BMW is showing off how capable the 2019 BMW X5, by recreating the Monza circuit in Merzouga, one of the most desert areas of Morocco. The 2019 X5 showed off how tough it is on the off-road track in the desert.

To recreate the Monza circuit, it took BMW’s team of engineers, surveyors, technicians, workers and pilots two weeks. At the end, BMW says that over 3,500 cubic meters of earth were moved to create the the off-road track.

To tackle the roughest terrain, the 2019 BMW X5 is available with a new xOffroad package that offers four off-road driving modes, xSand, xRocks, xGravel, and xSnow. It also comes standard with Dynamic Damper Control and the Adaptive M Professional suspension features active anti-roll stabilization and Integral Active Steering. The air suspension allows the vehicle height to be adjusted by 80 millimeters by simpluy pressing a button or using the BMW Display Key.

The 2019 BMW X5 xDrive40i is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder engine with 340 hp and 332 lb-ft. of torque. If you want more power the X5 xDrive50i is powered by a 4.4L V8 with 462 hp and 479 lb-ft. of torque.

The 2019 BMW X5 xDrive40i starts at $61,695, while the X5 xDrive50i starts at $76,745.
