The 2019 VW Tiguan is getting a few changes for the new model year and VW has also announced the pricing, which starts at $25,290, including the destination fees.

The 2019 VW Tiguan marks the second year of the current Tiguan, so there aren’t any huge differences, but VW has updated some of the trim options. The 2019 Tiguan is offered in six trims levels: S, SE, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium, and SEL Premium R-Line. The SE trim level now gets a standard alarm system and the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit and Park Distance Control are now standard on the Tiguan SEL model.

By the mid-model year the SEL R-Line model will be replaced by the SEL R-Line Jet-Black, which features the same content as the SEL R-Line, but adds 19-inch black alloy wheels and black exterior trim.

All versions of the 2019 Tiguan are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that generates 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft. of torque. The Tiguan comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is optional.

If you’re wondering about the last generation Tiguan, which was sold as the Tiguan Limited in 2018, it’s been discontinued for the 2019 model year.
