Toyota has slowly started adding Apple CarPlay to some of its models, like the 2019 Corolla hatchback and C-HR. Now we have confirmation that the 2019 Toyota Camry and Sienna models will be next in line to get Apple CarPlay compatibility.
Cars Direct obtained the order guides for both the 2019 Toyota Camry and Sienna, which shows that both models will get Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa integration. Toyota is still working with Google, so Android Auto is not yet available in any of the Toyota or Lexus models.
The Amazon Alexa integration will give drivers the ability to order food, check the weather, hear the news and ask for directions via the personal assistant. The “Toyota+Alexa” integration only currently works with Android 5.0 and higher, but it will be updated in early 2019 to make it compatible with iPhones as well.
