Buick recently launched the new Avenir sub-brand with the debut of the 2018 Buick Enclave and so far demand for the more luxurious Enclave Avenir is off to a good start. Now Buick is ready to expand the Avenir sub-brand with the arrival of the 2019 Buick Regal Sportback Avenir.

2018 Buick Regal Sportback

Buick hasn’t unveiled it yet, but the Avenir trim has been added to the options list in the fleet order guide for the 2019 Regal Sportback. Sadly it looks like the 2019 Regal TourX wagon isn’t getting the Avenir trim level.

The 2019 Regal Sportback Avenir will slot in between the Essence and GS trim levels. The Regal Sportback Avenir will only be available with front-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque that’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

On the outside the Avenir trim adds 19-inch alloy wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish, self leveling LED headlamps and cornering lamps. The order guide doesn’t mention any extra chrome or styling updates to the exterior, but it’s expected.

Inside the Regal Sportback Avenir gets the Sights and Sounds package that adds the Buick Infotainment System with Navigation and 8″ diagonal color touch screen, HD Radio and a Bose premium 8-speaker system. It also comes standard with Driver Confidence Package I, which includes the Memory Package, driver 4-way power lumbar seat adjuster, front passenger 4-way power lumbar seat adjuster, heated mirrors, Wireless Charging, Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.

The optional Driver Confidence Package II adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Forward Automatic Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Front Pedestrian Braking.

We’ll have to wait until Buick makes the official announcement to find out the pricing for the 2019 Regal Sportback Avenir.
