Waymo and Walmart have launched a new test pilot in Phoenix, Arizona that will give shoppers a ride in a Waymo autonomous vehicle to Walmart to pick up their groceries.

The test pilot will let riders save on their groceries by shopping on Walmart.com and then while their orders are being prepared at the store, a Waymo vehicle will transport the shopper to and from Walmart.

Waymo has also launched a test pilot with DDR corp. which will make it easier for shoppers and diners to visit Ahwatukee Foothills Towne Center in Chandler, Arizona. The pilot will offer shoppers and diners rides in Waymo’s self-driving vehicles to help them avoid the stressful parking lots.

The Walmart and DDR corp. pilots aren’t the only two new programs that Waymo is launching in Phoenix. Waymo and the Element Hotel in Chandler have teamed up to give select guests access to Waymo vehicles and AutoNation customers will now be able to use a Waymo self-driving car instead of a loaner when their vehicle is being serviced. Avis Budget Group will also provide Waymos as a last mile solution for Avis customers in Phoenix to help them pick up or drop off their rental cars, beginning with their two Chandler locations.
