We still haven’t seen the 2019 BMW 8 Series convertible in person yet, but BMW has announced that production of its new flagship convertible has kicked off.
Production of the 2019 BMW 8 Series convertible started earlier this week at BMW’s Dingolfing, where it will be built alongside the 5 Series and 7 Series models. The 2019 8 Series convertible will arrive in March 2019 and buyers in Europe will be able to choose from either a 320-hp 3.0L diesel or a 523-hp 4.4L V8. In the US we’ll only get the V8, which will power the M850i xDrive convertible.
The 2019 BMW M850i XDrive convertible can reach 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 mph. BMW has also announced that the pricing will start at $122,395.
The 8 Series convertible will officially debut later this month at the LA Auto Show.
