Speaking to Car and Driver, Jahal revealed that the 2017 Continental will be based on a front-wheel-drive platform, but all-wheel drive will be optional. The Lincoln exec didn’t release any other performance specs, but he did confirm that a hybrid version is not in the works. He also killed any hopes for a high-performance version, “We have high-performance engines, but we are going for a luxurious feeling rather than sportiness.”
If you’re wondering if the return of the Continental nameplate means that the rest of the “MK” names couldgo away, the answer is no, for now.
