The Kia Forte5 is one of the older entries in the growing compact hatchback segment, that includes heavyweights, like the Honda Civic, Mazda3 and VW Golf. Even though it may be showing its age in a few spots, the 2017 Kia Forte5 SX still represents a competitive and value oriented option with a little bit of fun thrown in. Just like every other Kia, the Kia Forte5 SX is packed with features. Apple CarPlay, leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, alloy wheels, and even a heated steering wheel, set the Forte5 apart. It’s also nice that unlike Honda, who makes you select one of the lower trims, if you’re trying to “save the manual”, the top trim Forte5 SX is still available with a manual transmission. The Honda Civic Hatchback only lets change your own gears with the lower Sport trim level, so if you want leather or Apple CarPlay, you’re stuck with a CVT.
