From the front the new A5 Sportback gets a face that brings it more in line with the rest of Audi’s newer models, like the A4. The three-dimensionally modeled Singleframe grille is significantly flatter and wider than on the previous model. The side features a similar profile, but a new wave pattern shoulder line gives it a stronger look.

Inside the interior is longer by 0.7-inches, shoulder room up front has improved by 0.4-inches and the rear knee room has improved by 0.9-inches. The styling of the interior is similar to the new A4 and the Audi virtual cockpit is optional.

Under the hood the A5 Sportback will be offered with up to five gasoline and diesel engines in Europe. A new 2.0L TFSI engine can run on gasoline, natural gas or Audi’s in-house e-gas. The A5 Sportback is expected to finally come to the U.S. and when it does it will be powered exclusively by the 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder engine with 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft. of torque. The S5 is powered by a 3.0L V6 with 354 horsepower and 368 lb-ft. of torque. The S5 is capable of reaching 0-62 mph in 4.7 seconds.
