2016 VW Jetta gets a new 1.4L Turbo

VW has announced that the 2016 VW Jetta now features a new 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that replaces the old naturally aspirated 2.0L engine in the S model and the 1.8T in the SE model.

VW has announced that the 2016 VW Jetta now features a new 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that replaces the old naturally aspirated 2.0L engine in the S model and the 1.8T in the SE model. With 150 horsepower on tap, the new 1.4L generates 35 more horsepower than the old 2.0L engine, but at the same time it’s up to 13 percent more fuel efficient.
The 1.4L engine also generates 184 lb-ft. of torque and can be mated to either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. With the six-speed automatic, the 1.4L engine is rated at 39 mpg.
