At the beginning of this year MINI previewed the new John Cooper Works model in concept form at the Detroit Auto Show and now a year later, MINI is set to unveil the production version.
Next month the production version will debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The 2016 John Cooper Works looks almost identical to the concept with its more aggressive front and rear bumpers and LED headlights.

Under the hood is what matters with the John Cooper Works model and this time it’s powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder with 228 horsepower and 236 lb-ft. of torque. This means that the 2016 John Cooper Works is the most powerful production MINI ever.
With the six-speed automatic transmission it only takes 6.1 seconds to reach 62 mph, while its a few ticks slower at 6.3 seconds with the six-speed manual.
