Mazda has finally confirmed the specs for the 2.0L SkyActiv four-cylinder engine that will power the U.S.-spec 2016 MX-5 Miata. The 2.0L generates 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft. of torque.

Although 155 horsepower is less than the 2015 MX-5 Miata’s 167 horsepower, the good news is that the 2016 model is 220 pounds lighter, giving it a better power-to-weight ratio. Other markets outside the U.S. will get a smaller 1.5L four-cylinder with 129 horsepower and 111 lb-ft. of torque.
