The first photos of the all-new 2016 Lincoln MKX have leaked online ahead of its debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show. Lincoln previewed the new MKX last April at the Beijing Motor Show and as expected most of the styling remains the same.
The 2016 MKX is the latest Lincoln to adopt Lincoln’s latest design language and in many cases the MKX looks similar to the smaller MKC. With the exception of the slightly larger body, most people probably won’t be able to immediately tell the difference between the MKC and the MKX crossovers.
Since the MKX shares its platform with the Ford Edge, we can expect at least one of the Edge’s powertrains to show up in the MKX. The new 2.7L EcoBoost V6, which also does duty under the new F-150 will be offered in the MKX with more than 300 horsepower. We’ll have to wait and see what other engines the MKX is going to get.
Stay tuned for the 2016 MKX’s debut next week.
