Confirming earlier reports, BMW is reportedly testing M-tuned versions of the 2-Series coupe that are powered by a more powerful version of the N55 engine in the M235i coupe.
The M2 is using the same N55 3.0L turbocharged six-cylinder as the M235i, but its output has been increased from 320 horsepower to between 380 and 400 horsepower. 2Addicts also reports that prototypes are being tested with both manual and automatic transmissions.

We’re not sure when BMW will introduce the M2, but it’s expected that it will be sometime in early 2016.
