BMW is expected to reveal the all-new 2016 7 Series later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but BMW has decided to give us a preview of the new 7 Series now.
The styling of the next-generation 7 Series will be an evolution of the current model with a slightly more muscular exterior. The more dramatic changes take place under the skin where the new 7 Series will use carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the structure of the passenger cell to help reduce the weight of the large sedan. The technology is borrowed from the i3 and i8 models and helps the new 7 Series drop around 290 pounds.
