2015 Volkswagen Golf R Pre-Order Kicks Off on January 8

Volkswagen has announced that the 2015 Golf R will be available to order starting on January 8, 2015. If you’re one of the first 500 to order the Golf R, you’ll also get a numbered Volkswagen Driver Gear R accessory kit.
The first 500 Golf R models will be identical: the top trim level Golf R with DCC & Nav and the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It will be painted in Lapiz Blue Metallic and feature 19-inch “Cadiz” aluminum-alloy wheels and summer performance tires, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights, DCC adaptive damping system, Park Distance Control, a navigation system and the Fender Premium Audio System. The Golf R with DCC & Nav starts at $39,910.

These first 500 owners will receive an exclusive, numbered Volkswagen Driver Gear R accessory kit, which consists of: a serialized Volkswagen R watch, carbon fiber and stainless steel keychain and a serialized and VIN-specific certificate.

The 2015 Golf R is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 292 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. The Golf R comes standard with 4Motion all-wheel-drive and only the DSG transmission will be available at launch. A six-speed manual transmission is going to be offered later. The GOlf R reaches 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
