Yesterday photos of the refreshed 2015 Ford Focus surfaced revealing a more stylish Focus with its Aston Martin-esque grille. Ford has now released all the details about the 2015 Focus, which in addition to the styling updates, also gets a new 1.0L three-cylinder EcoBoost engine and a long list of new technologies.
The 2015 Focus is now available with the same 1.0L three-cylinder EcoBoost engine as the smaller Fiesta. Ford hasn’t revealed the specs for the engine in the Focus, but in the Fiesta it generates 123-hp and 125 lb-ft. of torque. The turbocharged 1.0L will only be available with a six-speed manual transmission.
In addition to the styling updates and the new 1.0L engine, the 2015 Focus also gets tweaks to its suspension and chassis. These include a new shock absorber valve design that will make the interior quieter, a new electronic stability program system with less intrusion and improved comfort, and a change to the rear suspension to give drivers a more connected feel to the road.
The 2015 Focus is now available with a rearview camera, Blind Spot Information System and lane-keeping system. Standard on Focus for the first time, the rearview camera will appear on either a 4.2-inch screen or the 8-inch screen that comes with MyFord Touch-equipped cars.
The 2015 Ford Focus will go on sale in the second half of 2014.
