Chrysler has announced that it will not make a new version of the Chrysler 200 convertible and will instead only move forward with the 200 sedan.
Chrysler unveiled the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan last month in Detroit and we’ve already learned that Chrysler has no plans to make a new Dodge Avenger. Now it’s been revealed that the Chrysler 200 convertible has been axed as well.
When the 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan arrives in showrooms in the second quarter of this year, the 200 convertible will disappear. The reason Chrysler decided to not make a new 200 convertible is due to the fact that in 2013 less than five percent of the 122,480 Chrysler 200s sold were the convertible version.
According to a Chrysler spokesman, “We decided we’d be putting our best foot forward by concentrating all of our available resources into the sedan versus dividing them between the sedan and a convertible.”
