Last month the 2015 Ford Mustang debuted at the Detroit Auto Show and although Ford didn’t confirm any other plans for high-performance versions of the new Mustang, prototypes have been caught. Today I caught this 2015 Ford Mustang GT350 prototype driving around Los Angeles, which is the replacement for the Shelby GT500.

Overall the 2015 GT350 looks pretty close to the other Mustang models, but you’ll notice a few significant changes. First you’ll see from the front that the hood now has a large air vent, which could feed a forced induction engine. We don’t know what will power the 2015 GT350, but we do know that it won’t be the supercharged 5.8L V8 from the GT500, since it won’t fit under the hood. Second the exhaust on the GT350 is different with four tailpipes instead of the two on the Mustang GT.

It’s not known when the 2015 Mustang GT350 will debut, but it probably won’t happen until later this year.
