Ford and the United Auto Workers recently signed a new four year contract, which will see a $6.3 billion investment in Ford’s U.S. factories. The new contract also gives us some details about the 2013 Shelby GT500.
There have been rumors that the next GT500 would get a 5.8L supercharged V8 to go head to head with the Camaro ZL1 and the latest contract between Ford and the UAW confirms this. Part of the contract states that Ford’s Romeo Engine Assembly Plant will receive a $50 million investment and will produce the 5.8L supercharged V8 for the 2013 Shelby GT500.
It’s expected that the 2013 Shelby GT500 will pack over 600 horsepower.
