Most people already know that the Saturn Aura and the Opel Vectra are similar vehicles that are sold on different sides of the Atlantic. A common misconception is that the two sedans are based on the same platform. This will change with the next generation as both sedans will be virtually identical.
We’ve already seen spy photos of the next generation Opel Vectra/ Saturn Aura sedan testing in Europe. These new photos of the upcoming sedan were shot on U.S. soil in Death Valley. This is the first time that the upcoming sedan has been caught testing here. The car in these photos also has very little camouflage, which gives us an even better idea of what the final version will look like.
The new styling of the Vectra/ Aura draws many styling cues from the Opel GTC Concept that debuted last March.
The next generation Opel Vectra will come out first in Europe by late 2008 and we should have the new Saturn Aura by 2010.
