Honda Civics are the most popular new and used cars among teenage drivers according to a national survey conducted by the Quality Planning Corporation (QPC). The survey concludes that the Civic is the most popular new car, while the most popular used car is a seven-year-old Civic.

The QPC helps insurance companies verify policy holder info. Their survey looked at cars that were primarily driven by teenagers and not necessarily who owned them.
Large SUVS, that were once a popular choice because parents thought they were safer, are no longer popular mainly due to the high gas prices. There is also growing awareness to the fact that larger vehicles handle worse than their smaller counterparts, thereby making them more dangerous for inexperienced drivers.
Sports cars are also missing from the list, which is mainly due to the fact that they are higher to insure.
