VW has unveiled an updated version of the Taigun concept at the New Delhi Motor Show.
VW has unveiled an updated version of the Taigun concept at the New Delhi Motor Show. This time the Taigun concept receives updates from the original that debuted back in 2012 and is now more production ready than before.
The biggest change from the original concept is the placement of the spare tire on the concept’s back door, which frees up more interior space in the small SUV. VW says that the response to the original concept was overwhelming and Volkswagen took the opportunity to analyze feedback to adapt the new SUV ideally to customers’ wishes. One of these wishes was fast access to the spare wheel without having to empty the trunk first, which is why the concept has been updated.
The Taigun concept is powered by a 108-hp 1.0L three-cylinder engine that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. VW says that the concept will reach 0-62 mph in 9.2 seconds. It’s more than likely that a production version of the Taigun concept will go on sale soon in Europe, Latin America and Asia, but don’t count on it coming to the U.S.
