Volkswagen will reportedly preview a future flagship electric SUV next month at the Shanghai Motor Show. Dubbed the I.D. Lounge concept, the electric concept SUV is a preview of VW’s Tesla Model X rival.
VW hasn’t released any teasers yet of the I.D. Lounge concept, but the production version will offer three rows of seats and it’s expected to launch first in China, followed the US in the early next decade and then Europe.
The I.D. Lounge will join a growing list of 70 electric vehicles that VW is planning to released by 2028. The first models will be a small electric hatchback, the production version of the I.D. Crozz and Crozz Coupe crossovers and the I.D. Buzz, a modern interpretation of the Microbus.
The VW I.D. Lounge concept will debut on April 16.
