We’ve been waiting anxiously for VW to announce that the hot 270-hp Golf R is going to come to the US and now according to CarandDriver, that announcement could be next month at the Detroit Auto Show.
During a recent trip to VW’s Wolfsburg headquarters, CarandDriver was told with a wink and a nod that the official confirmation could happen next month and the Golf R would be on sale for the 2012 model year.
VW is also possibly going to release an R version of the Jetta.
