This awesome announcement means that soon there will be an all-wheel-drive Golf on the road with more than 400 horsepower. The Golf R 400 will be the first model to use the new high-output 2.0L turbocharged engine that originally debuted in the Audi TT Quattro Sport Concept. The concept had 414 horsepower, which means the Golf R 400 may debut with the same output or something just under it.

The production version of the Golf R 400 is expected to debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
