Volkswagen is bringing its CrossBlue Coupe SUV concept to the LA Auto Show next week. This isn’t the first time we’re seeing the CrossBlue Coupe, since it originally debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show last year.

The CrossBlue Coupe concept is a five-seater SUV that is based on the same MQB platform as the 2015 Golf and new Audi A3. It’s powered by a plug-in hybrid system that mates a V6 engine to two electric motors for a total 415 horsepower. VW says that it will reach 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 147 mph.

In Shanghai the concept had an electric driving range of 21 miles and a total driving range of 720 miles, but now the updated concept only has a range of 13 miles in EV mode and total range of 570 miles. Why the drop in driving range? Well it may be that Volkswagen is continuing to tweak the powertrain and now its figures are becoming a more realistic.
