After unveiling the I.D. hatchback concept and most recently the I.D. Buzz concept, Volkswagen has released a teaser of its next I.D. electric car concept. Volkswagen’s latest I.D. concept will preview a new electric SUV, when it debuts at the Shanghai Motor Show next week.

Volkswagen hasn’t released many details about the electric crossover concept, but it will have a driving range on par with traditional gas powered crossovers, which should give it a driving range around 300 miles. Just like the I.D. and I.D. Buzz concepts, the new crossover concept will also be able to drive autonomously.

Just like the other I.D. concepts, the newest crossover concept previews the range of electric cars that Volkswagen plans to introduce by 2020. All of them will also be based on VW’s new Modular Electric Drive kit platform. From this single teaser photo we can see that the crossover concept will have a more coupe-like roofline, similar to the BMW X6.

Volkswagen is working on a fourth I.D. concept that will debut later this year.
