We’ve been wondering when Volkswagen is going to reveal the eighth-generation GTI and now we have the answer. VW has confirmed that the next-generation GTI will debut in March at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

Volkswagen first confirmed the news to Autocar. Beyond the confirmation, we don’t have any other details about the new GTI, but we do know that it will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The next-generation Golf R is going to debut shortly after the GTI at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

While the eight-generation GTI and Golf R are confirmed for the US, it’s unlikely that we’re going to get the regular Golf.
