Volkswagen has released a few teaser sketches of the updated 2021 Atlas, which is getting a facelift to bring its styling even closer to the new Atlas Cross Sport.

2021 VW Atlas

The 2021 Atlas gets several exterior updates, including a revised grille, new head- and taillights, and front and rear bumpers. The exterior styling updates will also make the updated Atlas a few inches longer. Inside there are some interior upgrades, but VW hasn’t released any details yet. Plus it will offer two new driver-assistance features: Dynamic Road Sign Detection and Traffic Jam Assist, which operates the adaptive cruise control at low speeds or in annoying traffic.

The Atlas will continue to offer four-cylinder and V6 engine options. One change is that the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system will now be available with the turbocharged four-cylinder, since previously it was only an option if you opted for the V6 model.

We’ll get to see the 2021 VW Atlas in February at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show before it arrives in showrooms in May.
