Volkswagen is reportedly looking at the idea of bringing a pickup truck to the U.S. market as it looks at ways to expand its lineup in the states. A VW pickup for the U.S. has been rumored for a while, but a decision could finally happen soon.
“Pickup trucks are a dominating segment,” while there’s also a trend in the U.S. toward compact European vans, Eckhard Scholz, head of the light commercial vehicle unit, told Bloomberg. “We’re looking at both options intensively.”

VW sells the Amarok pickup in several markets around the world and the same pickup could eventually be sold here as a rival to the Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma.
