We’re big fans of the Toyota Land Cruiser, but the truth is that the rugged SUV barely even registers on Toyota’s sales charts in the United States. There have been lots of conflicting reports about what Toyota has planned for the Land Cruiser and now a new report claims that it will exit the US after the 2021 model year.

2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Review

A now deleted post on IH8MUD.com mentioned a report from Eric Sarjeant, General Manager of Ed Martin Toyota in Indianapolis, that the Land Cruiser will be discontinued in the US. This means that Toyota’s longest running nameplate in the United States will soon say goodbye.

Toyota has yet to confirm the report, but the current Land Cruiser J200 generation has been around for well over a decade with it only getting small facelifts since then. We also don’t know the fate of the Lexus LX, which is essentially a rebadged Land Cruiser, but there are reports that it will stick around.
