Last month Toyota took the wraps off the all-new 2020 Toyota Corolla and this month the new 2019 RAV4 is slated to arrive in showrooms, but Toyota still has a lot more planned. Toyota has confirmed that it will introduce 19 new models in the next 36 months.
Speaking to Autoguide, Jack Hollis, Group Vice President and General Manager of Toyota Division at Toyota Motor North America, stated, “In the next 36 months, we will have 19 all-new, minor change or major change vehicles, not including special editions.”
While some automakers have abandoned sedans and small cars, Toyota has no plans to ditch any big segments. “There’s some pretty good SUV movement in there,” Hollis stated, “But we’re making plans that we think are best for the end consumer and we still strongly believe in the car market.”
Right now we know that Toyota’s next big debut will be the new Supra next month, but after that there are several aged models in Toyota’s lineup that are due for an update, like the 4Runner, Sienna, Highlander and even the 86.
Toyota also recently revealed that it plans to add more sporty TRD models to its lineup and it’s also looking at the possibility of adding all-wheel drive to some of its cars, like the Camry.
