Production of the ill-fated Fisker Karma ended in 2012 and two years later Henrik Fisker’s company was bought by China’s Wanxiang Group Corporation. Now the automaker is back with a new name, Karma Automotive and the original Karma sedan has a new name Revero.
Karma Automotive is planning on re-introducing the plug-in hybrid sedan sometime this summer, with sales kicking off by the end of the year. While the sedan will wear a new name, the bigger change is what’s under the skin. Thanks to a new partnership with BMW, all of the Revero’s electrical components will be borrowed from BMW. The Revero will reportedly get a new battery, charger and new electrical controls. The Revero will retain the styling of the original Karma.

Another big change is that production will move from Finland to California. Karma Automotive will reveal the Revero sometime this summer, with sales expected to start before the end of the year.
