We have some good news for EV owners, since Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that Tesla will soon open its Supercharger network to other EVs. Musk tweeted the announcement in response to a tweet that praised Tesla’s proprietary charging connection.

The big news here is that non-Tesla electric vehicles will be able to access Tesla’s Supercharger network later this year.

While this is great news, there’s still a lot that we don’t know yet. For example will non-Tesla vehicles be able to get a DC fast charge or will they be limited to Level 2 speeds. Also don’t expect the chargers to be free. But either way this means that there will be another option for EV drivers later this year.
