Updates have been announced for the Tesla Model Y in China.
These updates include a new dark finish for the standard “Gemini” wheel covers and a configurable ambient light strip across the front of the dash, similar to what we’ve seen in the updated Model 3, though less extensive in its application.
The Chinese Tesla Model Y is also a bit faster than before, with a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds.
Coming on the heels of an extensive Tesla Model 3 update that saw significant changes to that vehicle’s interior and exterior, this Tesla Model Y update is notably less ambitious, with no noticeable changes to the vehicle’s sheet metal.
Pricing remains the same in China, where the Model Y starts at 236,900 yuan (roughly $37,000).
No Tesla Model Y updates have been announced for other parts of the world. However, Tesla vehicles have traditionally had very little variance between models sold in other countries, so we expect these updates to eventually make their way to other markets.
