Tesla has decided to increase the starting price for the new Model 3 mid-range. When Tesla announced the release of the new mid-range Model 3, it stated that the pricing would start at $45,000, but now it’s decided to increase that price by $1,000.
If you were lucky enough to order the Model 3 mid-range when it was announced, Tesla will still give it to you for $45,000, but if you order it now, you’ll have to pay at least $46,000. If you missed the news, the Model 3 mid-range has a driving range up to 260 miles.
While the Model 3 mid-range is only $1,000 more than when it was originally announced, buyers will soon have to pay even more for all Tesla vehicles, since the federal tax credit is about to be phased out. Buyers that take delivery of their Tesla vehicle after December 31, 2018 will only be eligible for a $3,750 tax credit in the first half of 2019. Starting in the second half of 2019, the tax credit will be cut again to only $1,875.
