Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed the automaker’s Master Plan 2, which follows its initial master plan that was released 10 years ago. Now that the original master plan is done with the introduction of the Model 3 and the purchase of SolarCity, Tesla is now ready to start its next phase.
Tesla has no plans to introduce anything cheaper than the Model 3 and instead plans to introduce a compact SUV and even a pickup truck as the automaker plans to have a vehicle in every major segment. Moving beyond its consumer electric vehicles, Tesla will move into the commercial space with the introduction of a new heavy-duty truck, the Tesla Semi and even a bus that will transport more riders than today’s buses.

We won’t have to wait too long to see what these new commercial vehicles will look like, since Tesla is planning a reveal at some point next year. The Tesla Semi will be safer than today’s heavy-duty pickups and according to Tesla it will also “deliver a substantial reduction in the cost of cargo transport.” The Tesla bus will also feature autonomous self-driving technology and an interior that has more room for passengers than current buses.
