Although Audi and Mercedes-Benz have shown success with their new small entry-level A3 and CLA models, BMW has yet to introduce a rival. Well BMW has unveiled, what could be a competitor to the A3 and CLA with the debut of the small 1 Series sedan, but the catch is that it’s only for the Chinese market.
The compact 1 Series was originally previewed as a concept with the Compact Sedan concept earlier this year. The production version is based on BMW’s UKL platform, which is also used by models, like the 2 Series and X1. The 1 Series sedan borrows styling cues from the larger BMW sedans, like the 3 and 5 Series models.
