Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk recently revealed that Tesla could soon have a 600-mile range electric car, which is a longer driving range than many gas powered vehicles. In an interview with Danish television, Musk stated that a 600-mile range Tesla could arrive by 2017 and that by 2020, the driving range could be even higher at 725 miles.
Currently the Model S can only travel up to around 300 miles, so a vehicle with double the driving range would keep Tesla ahead of the mounting competition. Musk also revealed that Tesla’s upcoming Autopilot program is currently in the beta testing phase and could be available as soon as next month.
