Who remembers the Subaru SVX from the 90’s? The SVX was produced from 1991 to 1997 and was Subaru’s first attempt at making GT Coupe. Although the SVX failed to meet expectations, Subaru is reportedly working on a successor.

According to the latest reports, Subaru is working on a new coupe that will be based on the same platform as the Hybrid Tourer Concept that is going to be unveiled next week in Tokyo. The car would be powered by a turbocharged 2.5L boxer engine, although a hybrid powerplant is also a possibility. The SVX successor would target high-end performance models.

The SVX is in addition to the FT-86 coupe that Subaru is working on with Toyota.
