The 2013 Subaru BRZ sports coupe isn’t on sale in the U.S. yet, but sales of the new coupe are already off to a good start in Japan. The BRZ debuted in Japan on February 3 and Subaru has already sold 3,551 units, which is four times the initial sales forecasts.

Subaru had only planned on selling 450 units in Japan per month. The BRZ will officially go on sale in the Unites States on April 20, but Subaru only plans on selling 500 units here a month.

In Japan almost 60 percent of BRZ buyers are under 40 and the top selling color is the blue mica.
