2013 Chevy Traverse Unveiled Ahead of New York Debut

GM is giving the Chevy Traverse crossover a facelift for the 2013 model year. According to GM, the 2013 Traverse has a new, athletic exterior design, complemented by a more expressive front end that introduces a new face for Chevy crossover utilities.

The front of the 2013 Traverse features a new shape supported by a powerdome hood, a three-bar upper and two-bar lower grille design, new lamps, chrome accents around the grille and fog lamps, and sculpted front corners similar to the Malibu sedan. Out back the Traverse gets a restyled liftgate with redesigned lamps.

Inside the 2013 Traverse still has room for up to eight passengers, but now the interior has new features and upgraded materials, such as soft-touch surfaces on the instrument panel and front doors uppers,chrome and silver accents, and available blue ambient lighting that flows through the cabin. A new center stack features a 6.5-inch color touch radio with the available MyLink infotainment system.

The 2013 Traverse is powered by a 3.6L V6 with up to 288 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque when it’s equipped with dual exhausts. It can also tow up to 5,200 pounds.
