Stellantis is putting some big investments in the EV segment, with four different EV platforms (Small/Medium/Large/Frame) planned to be used by a plethora of new electric vehicles. Stellantis is now giving us more details about one of the platforms, called STLA Medium, which will be used for future C- and D-segment EVs.

The STLA Medium platform is the first of four global BEV platforms that Stellantis announced during EV Day 2021. The Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, includes reaching a 100% passenger car battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales mix in Europe and a 50% passenger car and light-duty truck BEV sales mix in the United States by 2030.
The STLA Medium platform delivers a range of more than 435 miles with a Performance pack, while a Standard pack is rated at more than 310 miles on Europe’s less stringent WLTP cycle. We can expect slightly lower range specs in the U.S. It’s battery has a useful energy up to 98 kWh.

STLA Medium uses a 400-volt electric architecture. Owners will be able to charge the battery from 20% to 80% charge in 27 minutes. The vehicles based on the STLA Medium platform can feature a single electric motor at the front or an additional one at the rear to give it all-wheel drive. The BEV power output will range from 160 to 285 kW.
