This year marks the 10th anniversary of when the first smart fortwo was sold in the United States. To celebrate its 10 years of sales here, smart has announced the introduction of the 2018 smart fortwo 10th Anniversary Edition electric drive coupe, which is going to debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
The 10th Anniversary Edition is available in either the passion and prime trim levels of the fortwo electric drive coupe. It adds a unique Sapphire Blue Metallic paint for body panels, tridion safety cell and front grille. The Edition will also feature exclusive 10th Anniversary badging in place of trim badges, a BRABUS shift knob and BRABUS floor mats with custom stitching. The Anniversary Edition also adds 16″ BRABUS Monoblock VII wheels in Matte Anthracite Grey and the Sport Package.
The 10th Anniversary Edition adds $1,950 to the price of either the passion or prime trim levels of the electric coupe.
In other big news, smart is the first brand in the U.S. to convert to an all-electric strategy for 2018, meaning that you will only be able to buy electric versions of either the smart fortwo coupe or convertible. The gas powered versions are gone.
