Cadillac is planning on launching a new small rear-wheel-drive sedan that will go head to head with the BMW 3-Series.

The 3-Series sized Alpha RWD Cadillac is scheduled for 2011 release date and will replace the slow selling FWD BLS (pictured above) in Europe and be sold in North America as well. The small RWD Alphas will consist of a conventional four-door sedan as well as a folding hardtop coupe, or a conventional coupe and convertible.
