Porsche has unveiled a new special edition version of the Cayman S, the Cayman S Black Edition. The Cayman S Black Edition marks the end of the current generation, before the all-new Boxster and Cayman launch within the next year.
The Cayman S Black Edition is powered by the same 330-hp 3.4L flat-six cylinder as the Cayman R, which is 10 more horsepower than the Cayman S. The engine is mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed (PDK) dual clutch transmission. According to Porsche, the Cayman S Black Edition will reach 0-62 mph in 5.1 seconds with the manual and 5.0 seconds with the dual clutch gearbox. With the optional PDK Sport Chrono package it can reach 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds. It has a top speed up to 173 mph.
Inside the black theme continues with black trim, black sport seats and “Black Edition” scuff plates.
Porsche only plans on building 500 units with pricing starting at $68,450 when it goes on sale this July.
