Porsche currently offers two electric vehicles, the Taycan and the Macan EV, and it isn’t stopping there. Porsche has announced that a new Cayenne EV will debut this year, followed by a new fully electric 718 lineup.

Porsche hasn’t provided that much info about the fully electric Cayenne SUV, but it will debut late this year. With the arrival of the Cayenne EV, Porsche still sees room in its lineup for combustion powered Cayenne models, which means the two Cayenne SUVs will be sold alongside each other. This is the same strategy that Porsche has implemented for the Macan, although the gas-powered Macan is slated to disappear soon.

Although the plan is to discontinue to ICE powered Macan, Porsche has announced that it’s considering a new gas-powered SUV to replace the conventional Macan. According to Porsche, it is “currently evaluating an independent model line in the SUV segment with combustion and hybrid powertrains.”

After the Cayenne EV debuts, Porsche is going to introduce the electric 718 Boxster and Cayman models. We don’t have an exact date when the electric 718 models will debut, but the gas powered versions are slated to end production this year.

Later this decade, Porsche will introduce a larger electric SUV with three rows.

Although Porsche is expanding its electric lineup, it says that its “combustion-engined and electric models will be available in parallel well into the 2030s.”
