Due to the strong demand for the Cayman GT4, Porsche execs are reportedly trying to decide if Porsche should build a more hardcore version of the Boxster Spyder that was unveiled earlier this month. The Boxster Spyder is already the top version of the Boxster lineup, but it wouldn’t take too much work to develop a GT4-badged version.
The Boxster Spyder is powered by a de-tuned version of the 3.8L flat-six engine that powers the Cayman GT4. The other upgrades would be borrowed from the Cayman GT4, like its stiffer rear suspension, bigger brakes and adjustable front suspension.

If it does get the green light we could see the Boxster Spyder GT4 debut as early as the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year or the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
