Porsche has confirmed that it will build the 911 Speedster, with production slated to begin in mid-2019. If you want to get your hands on one, you better act fast, since Porsche will only build 1,948 units. The number of units reminisces the Porsche 356 “Number 1” that received its operating license on June, 8 1948.
When the Porsche 911 Speedster arrives next year it will be the first 911 to be offered with the new Heritage Design Packages – an exclusive accessory line by Porsche Exclusive.
The 911 Speedster concept was originally unveiled a few months ago during Porsche’s 70th birthday celebration. It’s based on the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. As part of its transition to a “speedster” the 911 Speedster features shortened window frames, smaller side windows as well as a carbon-fiber rear deck with the double-bubble cover behind the seats.
The limited edition 911 Speedster is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six engine with more than 500 hp.
